Dual carriageway expected to re-open in morning

Traffic-Advisory
THE Contractor doing this work on behalf of Transport Infrastructure Ireland has engaged additional resources to try and complete the works on the dual carriageway between Manorcunningham Roundabout and the Dry Arch Roundabout in Letterkenny this evening.

However, the new surfacing requires five hours before traffic can run over it so traffic management will remain in place overnight and will be removed in the morning prior to peak traffic.

In the event that the Contractor does not get the works completed this evening, the traffic management will remain in place overnight and will be removed in the morning prior to peak traffic and reinstated after the peak traffic time has passed in order to complete the works.

These works involve the installation of high friction surfacing (Coloured Surfacing) on the approach to the Dry Arch Roundabout. The installation of this type of surfacing is very susceptible to weather conditions and in particular the surface receiving the new high friction surfacing must be completely and totally dry.

The entire inbound lane has been closed during these works as this is considered to be the safest way to manage the works.

Donegal County Council and Transport Infrastructure Ireland would like to thank the public for their patience and co-operation while this work is being undertaken and we apologise for the inconvenience caused.
