THE long-standing issue of GAA club boundaries is set to reach a political forum with the Letterkenny Town Council to debate the matter at its monthly meeting on Monday night.
The Donegal News has learned that a motion from Fianna Fáil Councillor Tadgh Culbert will go before the meeting at the Public Services Centre.
It comes just a few weeks before the divisive issue will go before the next meeting of the Donegal County Committee on Monday, November 7th.
There are a few debates on the matter in Donegal, with the biggest of those being in Letterkenny, where the Letterkenny Gaels and St Eunan’s clubs are at loggerheads over the issue.
At the September Co Committee meeting, Letterkenny Gaels reiterated their call to have the parish of Aughaninshin declared as their club’s catchment area. The matter is to be voted on at the November meeting after delegates that night called to be allowed go back to their clubs to discuss the matter.
