Letterkenny cleanliness has decreased dramatically

THE cleanliness of Letterkenny has decreased dramatically in the past year.

According to IBAL’s latest summer litter survey, the town has been ranked 21st out of 40 towns and cities in Ireland, a major drop down from sixth place last year.

The report explains while clean, Letterkenny failed to retain its top ten spot from last year, with a number of sites just missing the top litter grade.

The report referred to the N56 Dunfanaghy Approach Road from Dry Arch Roundabout to Polestar Roundabout which had too many food related items such as mineral cans, plastic bottles, plastic bags and cigarette butts for the top litter grade.

The Letterkenny Bus Station was granted a Grade C and described as the ‘most heavily littered site surveyed in Letterkenny.’
