THE Letterkenny Christmas light switch on event has been cancelled.
The event was due to be held on Friday night, November 19 but due to the high number of Covid-19 cases, Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce has made the decision to cancel the event.
A virtual switch on will be held on Facebook and the Chamber has apologised for any disappointment caused.

Annoouncing the news, a spokesperson for the Chamber said, “It is with huge disappointment that we have decided to cancel Friday nights Christmas Lights public switch on event.
“We have made this decision with a heavy heart but in light of high covid numbers in our community we felt it was more prudent to err on the side of caution to protect all our families in the lead up to Christmas.
“We know you will be as disappointed as we are but this is the right decision for our current times.
“Check out our facebook page on Friday night to see the virtual switch on.”
