LAST Saturday two football teams braved the wet and wintry weather conditions to put on an exciting match in aid of the Special Olympics.
The two teams that lined out at the Letterkenny Community Centre grounds were made up of local Letterkenny men and Pramerica staff members who turned out to raise money for the Letterkenny Strikers 10 Pin Bowling Club.
A few members of the Special Olympians also togged out to show the boys how it was done and organisers said they thoroughly enjoyed themselves, despite the bad weather.
Local man Cathal Harvey, a well-known porter at Letterkenny General Hospital, but on a very impressive display scoring no less that five goals to win the match for his side, but of course the Special Olympians were the big winners on the day.
Organiser, Seamus Crossan (Pramerica) thanked all the participants and those who braved the conditions to come and watch the game.
