Letterkenny Cathedral Quarter will be holding its Annual General Meeting in Dillons Hotel on Thursday, April 27 at 8pm and are looking for more people to join the dynamic project.
A spokesperson said “In recent years our project has gone from strength to strength and has won National Awards. The Government has recognised the potential of the project when they awarded Donegal County Council €10.4 million under the Urban Regeneration Development Fund to develop a greater ‘Cathedral Quarter area. We now have bi-monthly meetings with officials of the local authority to continue to make our vision a reality.”
“We host an annual programme of events including St Brigid’s Day Crossmaking, Street Feast, Heritage Week, Culture Night, our Literary Festival and the Letterkenny Carol Trail. Last summer, we hosted the first-ever Conference about Dereliction in Ireland in conjunction with Letterkenny Tidy Towns. And after the conference, the official unveiling of the Church Lane Historic Towns Initiative occurred demonstrating that dereliction is reversible. We are planning a Second Dereliction conference alongside the Tidy Towns for this July, whilst hoping to continue to contribute to the social, economic and cultural life of Letterkenny.”
The organisation is especially seeking people with expertise in events organisation, Public Relations, Fundraising, Webpage design and sourcing funding.
“If you feel would like to contribute to this dynamic innovative project, come along to our AGM in Dillons Hotel on Thursday, April 27 at 8pm. Play your part in this exciting chapter of Letterkenny. All are welcome.”
