Letterkenny cafe gets go ahead for extension

THE green light has been given for works at a popular Letterkenny cafe.

Applicant Eunan McIntyre lodged plans in September for the construction of a two-storey extension to Mac’s Deli on the High Road.

Under proposals he sought to provide an additional food preparation area on the ground floor level and administration/office space on the first floor. All associated site works, including connection to public services were included in the proposals.

Donegal County Council granted permission subject to six conditions. One stipulation to protect the amenities of the area is that the construction of the development shall be managed in accordance with a Construction Management Plan, which is to be submitted to and agreed in writing with the Planning Authority prior to commencement of development.

The plan shall set out the location and details of the temporary construction access to the site, the phasing of construction works and the management of traffic flows on the public road during on-site construction works.

In further advice to the applicant, Donegal County Council said permission for road openings associated must be separately approved by Council before the commencement of any works on the opening of the road, verge or footpath.
