Letterkenny and the Twin Towns will switch on to Christmas this weekend.
The Christmas lights will be turned on in Letterkenny and in the Twin Towns today.
The lights event in Letterkenny will commence at Market Square/Main Street at 6pm.
The event in Ballybofey will start at 3pm at Main Street.
These events are always well attended and a great chance for all of the family to have fun together.
There will be road closures in Letterkenny between 5.30pm until 8.30pm today.
Letterkenny Main Street, from Rosemount Lane to the Oliver Plunkett Road, will be closed off as will Market Square and Castle Street.
Alternative routes are Church Lane to Cathedral Road, Justice Walsh Road to Pearse Road and Rosemount Lane to Pearse Road (Light vehicles only)
The event in Ballybofey will take place from 3pm. There may be some minor disruption to traffic but Gardaí will be on hand to assist with diversions.
A garda spokesperson said: “We hope that everybody has a very enjoyable time at both events and we look forward to seeing you all there!”
