GARDAÍ in Donegal are warning people to be extra vigilant with reports that bogus callers have been operating in different parts of the county.

The Gardaí received a number of reports of people encountering these callers in the Inishowen and Letterkenny areas this week.

People are encouraged to stay vigilant regardless of where they are in the county as these callers could show up anywhere.

The callers have been offering services like powerwashing, painting and various other jobs. They could also be attempting to sell goods such as tools and generators.

Those who are elderly and vulnerable can be particularly targeted by these individuals.

The Gardaí are advising people to not interact with such callers.

They have also outlined that you should not open your doors to people unless you know they have a genuine reason to be there.

They have requested that people should always be cautious when out and about and report suspicious people/vehicles to them immediately.
