Leaving cert students advised to celebrate safely

Gardaí in Donegal have advised Leaving Certificate students who are planning on celebrating tonight to do so safely.
Over 2,000 students in Donegal received their results earlier tonight.
Ahead of a night of celebrations, Gardaí in Donegal have issued advice to students.

“If you are planning to go out celebrating tonight, look out for your friends and ensure that everyone is accounted for at the end of the night.

Look after your belongings.
“Avoid walking alone and in dark places and be wary of your surroundings.
“Walk away from aggressive people and seek help if necessary.
Never take illegal drugs of any kind.
“That future that you are dreaming of this very day may not come at all should you start to experiment with drugs.
“Be kind to anyone who may not have gotten the results they wanted (especially tonight) as they may be feeling a bit low.
“Please enjoy your night out responsibly. We wish you all the very best in the future.”
