Launch of Swilly Sisters’ Shed full of warmth and friendship

RATHMULLAN was the place to be  recently as locals gathered to celebrate the launch of the Swilly Sisters’ Shed which took place on International Women’s Day
Almost 70 people were in attendance at the launch whilst others sent their apologies.

The Swilly Sisters’ Shed is an open group for women aged 18 and over from Rathmullan, Ramelton, Milford, Kerrykeel, Portalson and the surrounding areas. The aim of the group is to provide a space for women to engage in activites, learn new skills and build friendships.

Shed Chairperson Hazel Russell issued heartfelt thanks to everyone who made night special.

She said, “A big, big thank you to everyone who turned up at the St Vincent De Paul Centre in Rathmullan for the launch of the Swilly Sisters’ Shed and celebrating International Women’s Day. The warmth, friendship and craic felt was just amazing and the cupán tae agus cake went down a treat.

“We would also like to issue huge thanks to Donegal Local Development Company for their support in setting up the Shed, with Karen McGinley in attendance on the night and also to guest speakers from Cranford Women’s Group who took to the mic.
“More exciting plans are on the horizon, so we’re now in full ‘Spring Forward’ motion. Looking forward to seeing all the Swilly Sisters again!”
