DONEGAL’S Local Enterprise Office is inviting businesses to get involved in this year’s Donegal Business Week. Running from Monday, 7th to Friday, 11th March, Donegal Business Week is a great opportunity for Donegal businesses and start-ups to learn from, listen to and network with leaders in their field. The week includes a series of events, seminars, talks and workshops to help businesses of all shapes and sizes get ‘Business Fit’ this year.

A host of thought leaders and industry experts will visit Donegal for the week-long event, sharing their knowledge and top tips with business people in the county. The week begins with a not-to- be-missed marketing workshop with multi-award winning speaker Geoff Ramm, who has challenged entrepreneurs across six continents to look deeper, think smarter and create better.

On Monday, 7th March, Ramm will host ‘Marketing – More Than A Leaflet’ in The Radisson Blu, Letterkenny. This event is an energised and entertaining workshop, which promises to arm participants with the tools they need to gain more customers.

Tuesday, 8th March focuses on the critical issue of finance for business, with a series of presentations from organisations and agencies that help raise finance for businesses. Taking place in An Grianan Hotel, Burt, this event also gives attendees the opportunity to have a one-on-one appointment with a key advisor.

On Wednesday, 9th March, ‘Making Donegal Famous For Food’ takes place in The Donegal Brewing Co., Dicey Reilly’s, Ballyshannon. This event is open to anyone working in food related businesses in Donegal, including producers, chefs, restaurants, cafes, hotels and accommodation providers. Key speakers include Alastair Dobson from A Taste of Arran, in Scotland, who will share his experience of working collaboratively with other partners to develop his business and enhance the food reputation of the Isle of Arran.

Thursday 10th March focuses on ‘Wellness at Work’ and takes place in Kees Hotel, Stranorlar. Anumber of speakers, including nutritionist Paula Mee and fitness expert Pat Divilly, will advise businesses on how to foster a healthier and happier workplace.

Donegal Business Week culminates with the 20th Donegal Business Awards, which take place on Friday, 11th March at 12.30pm in the Villa Rose Hotel, Ballybofey. This event is open to the public and the guest speaker is Padraig O’Ceidigh,    the Connemara man synonymous with Aer Arann. Tickets are

Speaking at the launch of Donegal Business Week, 2016, Seamus Neely, Chief Executive of Donegal County Council, said; “Business Week provides businesses across Donegal with an annual opportunity to gain unique insights from other business owners and practitioners. It’s also a great opportunity to make new contacts and network with other businesses and relevant support agencies and organisations.”

Adding to this Michael Tunney, Head of Enterprise at Donegal’s LEO said: “We’ve put together a jam-packed schedule of events this year, covering everything from marketing and digital marketing, to exporting, accessing and managing finance, food and creative business development, as well as HR and Wellness within your business.
