The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has today been informed that a total of 10 people with Covid-19 have died.
There have now been a total 1,543 Covid-19 related deaths in Ireland.
As of 11am Sunday 17 May, the HPSC has been notified of 64 new confirmed cases of Covid-19. There is now a total of 24,112 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Ireland.
There are now a total of 475 confirmed cases in Donegal, a rise of one (474) on the previous day’s figure.
Worringly though, there has been a spike in the number of suspected Covid-19 patients in Letterkenny University Hospital. At 8pm on Saturday night there were 28 patients being treated in LUH with suspected Covid with a further 12 confirmed coronavirus patients receiving treatment in Letterkenny.
Note: The Health Protection Surveillance Centre have advised that in the process of validating data and reviewing addresses, cases may be reassigned to another county.
