Late penalty denies Donegal ladies a win over Monaghan

Monaghan 2-10 Donegal 1-13

A late Monaghan penalty saw Donegal held to a draw in their fourth Ladies National League Division 2 game in Truagh.

A penalty inside a minute by Leanne Maguire had the hosts in front but Nicole Gordon also struck the net after three minutes and Donegal never went behind for the rest of the game.

Susanne White kicked four scores as Donegal went 1-7 to to 1-4 ahead at the break.

White kicked three more and Roisin Rodgers and Amy Boyle Carr tagged on scores for a three point lead with less than five minutes to go.

But after consulting his umpires, Gus Chapman signalled for a second penalty and while Éabha Sherry hit the crossbar, she punched in the rebound to level.

Katie Long put Donegal ahead in added time but Sherry replied to see the sides share the spoils.
