Late, Late show from Naomh Conaill sees off Termon

Naomh Conaill 2-12 Termon 2-11

Naomh Conaill came back from the dead in second half injury-time to leave Termon heartbroken at O’Donnell Park today.

Termon played some great football in the first half and Jack Alcorn’s goal helped them into a 1-7 to 0-1 lead.

However, Naomh Conaill struck back with a goal from Charles McGuinness and a point from Kevin McGettigan late in the half.

Patrick Fegan scored a second major for Termon but Naomh Conaill fought back and got back to within three when Anthony Thompson scored a two-pointer.

Termon pushed six points ahead but Naomh Conaill’s young players rose to the occasion.

Shea Malone supplied three points and then Max Campbell saw an effort deflected into the net.

It looked like extra-time would be needed until Finnbarr Roarty left Termon stunned with the winning score.

Naomh Conaill advance to the last four.
