Late Bradley goal helps St Eunan’s to victory

Craobh Ciaran 0-12 St Eunan’s 3-5

ST EUNAN’S qualified for the Ulster Minor Hurling Tournament Shield Final when they got the better of Craobh Ciaran in a tight battle in Ballinascreen on Wednesday night.

It was a nip-and-tuck first half but goals from Neil Ó Baoighill and Matthew Callaghan helped St Eunan’s into a 2-4 to 0-6 lead.

Brendan Gaffey, Neil Ó Baoighill and John Kealy, and team captain David Horgan were all to the fore for the Letterkenny men in the opening half-hour.

It was all Craobh Ciaran in the second half with Rory Grimes and Caionn Hughes causing damage for the Armagh side.

St Eunan’s struggled to get ball out of defence and keep it in their opponent’s half. Then at the death, a long ball in dropped to substitute Lorcan Bradley who kicked it past the oncoming Diarmuid Hughes.

That won the game for Adie Gaffey’s side and St Eunan’s will now meet Eire Og (Tyrone) in the Shield Final on December 28th at 1pm. The winners will play Bredagh in the Cup Semi-final.
