BJ Banda reeled back the years to head in a late winner for Finn Harps against Kerry in Mounthawk Park.
Samuel Aladesanusi’s 86th minute header cancelled out Ryan Flood’s opener as it looked like the Harps would fail to beat Kerry for the third time this season.
But Banda’s 95th minute header ensured the three points would be coming back up to Donegal.
A first half with few chances, Tony McNamee’s free-kick and Patrick Ferry from inside the box tested Lee Axworthy in the Kerry goal but he was equal to the efforts as the Harps were on top in the first half.
Sean McGrath had a massive chance for Kerry early in the second half but Rory Kelly made a crucial point blank save and moments later the visitors were ahead.
It came as Max Hutchison found O’Donnell down the left and he cut into the box and poked the ball towards Flood and from a tight angle the American smashed it low towards the near post to beat Axworthy.
Both sides had chances in the remaining 35 minutes but the equaliser came as Cian Brosnan’s corner was whipped to the back post and Aladesanusi rose highest at the back post to head in with five minutes to go.
But the Harps pushed for a winner and when Scott Wara was fouled just inside the Harps half and Ryan Flood whipped the ball to the back post with Wara heading across to Banda to head into the net just into the fifth minute of four added on.
The win moves Finn Harps up to seventh and three points off the play-offs.
