Gaoth Dobhair Lady Captain, Róisín Nic Pháidin celebrated the biggest day in her golfing calendar last weekend when all the Lady Members, Gents, Visitors and Guests enjoyed the golf, the delicious food and hospitality as well as the entertainment.
The events started on Thursday evening with the Lady Captain’s shoot out.
On a blustery evening it was the two experienced golfers Mairéad Harkin and Kathleen Rodgers who made their way down the final fairway with Máiread eventually taking the honours. Well done to all the Ladies who took part and particular congratulations to winner Mairéad and runner up Kathleen.
The Gents took to the fairways to play for Róisín’s prize on Friday with ár nUachtarán Noel Ó Fearraigh emerging as the winner. Young Michael Mc Bride took second place and Vadar Crawford was in third position.
The weather was reasonable for the Ladies on Saturday although the early starters did have some rain and it was a windy day in Machaire Gathlan. Anne Curran had the best score of the day with a 72 nett and took the honours.
