GERALDINE McLaughlin netted a deadly hat-trick for the Termon as they scored a comfortable win over St Eunan’s to hand them their third Donegal senior ladies title.
McLaughlin hit a second half brace that staved off any possibility of a Eunan’s comeback, even when Nakita Burke and Danielle Fay scored two goals in a three-minute spell for the Letterkenny girls.
McLaughlin’s first half goal had given Termon a platform and the excellent Rosin Friel added another late in the half. Termon led by 2-5 to 0-2 at the break and the Burn Road girls scored an impressive win to retain their title.
Captain Maureen O’Donnell chalked up four points for Termon, who led from start to finish and now move menacingly into the Ulster Championship.
In the Intermediate final, Milford just held on to stave off a gallant Aodh Ruadh fightback. Amber Barrett, Lianne Boyce and Aisling McBride looked to be giving them a comfortable win – but Aodh Ruadh had other ideas.
Elaine Dorrian’s two late goals (one a penalty) added to Donna Martin’s first-half goal brought Aodh Ruadh back, but Martin Barrett’s Milford held on to win 3-9 to 4-4.
