‘Kym’s Kolour Fun Run’ this weekend

Huge  crowds of people are expected to unite in a sea of colour on Sunday to celebrate the life of a vibrant young woman tragically killed in a car crash.

‘Kym’s Kolour Fun Run – Remembering Kym’, now in its second year, is in memory of Ballybofey woman, Kym Harley. The 19-year-old, who was the daughter of Fine Gael County Councillor, Martin Harley, died in a collision in Dreenan in October 2014.

Cllr Harley said the event was a day of fun to remember his daughter and raise much-needed funds for local charities. He said last year’s event was a “huge success” and that he hoped as many people as possible would take part in this weekend’s run in aid of a number of local charities.

Cllr Harley said the Kym’s Kolour Fun Run allows family and friends of the young woman to remember her and celebrate her life in a fun way, and is also open to members of the public who wish to take part to support Kym’s family and local  charities.

The event starts at 2pm at the shopping centre car park beside McElhinney’s in Ballybofey. Those taking part are asked to wear a white T-shirt,  bright colours and multi colour wigs, all adding to the fun of the event.

Entry fee is €10 per person , family price €20 and students can take part for €5. All money raised will be donated to local causes. All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
