Kyle agrees Norwich City deal

Paul said: “He’s been to Burnley and Blackburn but he really liked everything about Norwich, the people, the facilities, the coaches and so on. (Youth Development Officer) Colin Watts has been on the phone to me non-stop, just correlating all in the information we need.

“They have sent over a programme for Kyle to stick to in the next few weeks so that when he lands over in July he can hit the ground running with their pre-season training. “It was just a plan for core work, running and appetite, what to eat and what not to eat.”

The young Ramelton defender has been progressing steadily through the Rep. of Ireland underage set-up’s in recent years and Paul believes that involvement and the experience of travelling long distances abroad will help Kyle settle in well in East Anglia.

“Ricky phoned me and told me to just him down and explain what exactly it will involve.

“He’ll be over for four weeks, home for a week, back over for four weeks, home for a week and so on and so on. There’s no doubt he’s looking forward to it. We’re travelling over on July 3 and then signing the deal on the 5th.

“He’s then travelling to Kazakhstan in August with the Irish U17’s for a European Qualifier so that is a big game. But he’s been all over the place with the Irish team, places like Qatar, Holland and Hungary.”

Kyle will be joining a side that secured their path into the English top flight under the stewardship of ex-Scotland international Paul Lambert, finishing second behind Championship winners QPR and four points clear of the play-off spots.

Kyle’s move across channel comes ten years after another Ramelton lad, Conrad Logan, headed for the promised land and he will now be hoping he can enjoy similar longevity to that of his fellow townsman.

Conrad (25) is still at Leicester City but the ‘keeper has been attracting interest from Bristol Rovers.
