KILLYGORDON National School is preparing to celebrate their 60th anniversary by hosting a number of fundraising events in aid of a sensory room and a car park.
Situated on Killygordon Main Street, for years parents have had difficulty dropping their children to school due to the lack of parking spaces.
Despite being in talks with Donegal County Council, the school’s parents committee decided to take matters into their own hands by hosting a fundraising Tractor Run and raffle.
However, with only 12 families attending the small school, now more than ever they need the public’s help.
Describing the need for these facilities as “extremely important”, organiser, Rachelle McMenamin is hoping that the fundraiser is well supported.
“We are hoping to get as many people as possible out in their tractors, cars and lorries,” she said.
Planned to take place on June 2, registration for the fundraising Tractor Run will be at Killtown, Killygordon from 12pm.
The registration fee is €20 and the run will set off from there at 2pm.
A raffle will also take place on the day with some amazing prizes up for grabs.
