Kilcar lose out to Slaughtneil

Kilcar’s Ulster dream came to an end tonight, as they lost out to Slaughtneil in Healy Park.

Slaughtneil started the game very well and established a 0-6 to 0-1 lead, while Kilcar spurned two goal chances.

However, Kilcar dominated the second period when they pushed up on Slaughtneil’s kick-outs.

Patrick McBrearty, Andrew McClean, Stephen McBrearty, and Mark McHugh all registered scores, and Barry Doherty’s team led by a point at the interval.

HT: Kilcar 0-8 Slaughtneil 0-7

The 15-minute break settled Slaughtneil and they were much improved in the second half.

They dominated the third quarter, outscoring Kilcar by 1-6 to 0-2 in that period with Se McGuigan scoring the goal.

Kilcar kept battling, and they created three more goal chances but failed to take any.

Slaughtneil closed the game out with a goal from Christopher Bradley and they will now advance to the Ulster Club Final.
