NA ROSSA and Kilcar are set to lodge appeals against the decision of the Donegal Competitions Controls Committee (CCC) to aware wins to Naomh Ultan and Termon from games that were scheduled last weekend.

Naomh Ultan have been awarded a win from Saturday’s Junior A Championship game after Na Rossa’s no show, while Termon have been given the points after they traveled to Towney on Friday to find that Kilcar weren’t fielding in their Division One clash.

Na Rossa had appealed for their game against Naomh Ultan in Dunkineely to be postponed after they claimed they hadn’t received the required notice for the game.

Na Rossa secretary Pat Boyle said his club only received official confirmation of the game at 9.30pm on Monday-week last. Na Rossa had been pencilled in for a free weekend, but a rejig of the fixtures to avoid a clash with the Ulster minor final meant that their game against Naomh Ultan was brought forward.

The CCC insisted that the game go ahead and, on Wednesday night the fixtures body met to discuss the matter and awarded the win to Naomh Ultan. Na Rossa have indicated that they will lodge an appeal against the decision.

Kilcar are also seething after Termon were awarded two points from their non-played game last Friday night. It was the second week in succession for Kilcar to have a double round of games. On the Monday night, Kilcar informed the CCC that they were not willing to fulfill the game without their county players and they, too, can be expected to submit an appeal.
