Kelly hails his team’s character

A year of preparation, a season of ups, downs and heart-stopping moments, all came down to one kick. There are people who go through life and they might never experience one moment of pure pressure and expectation similar to what Tiernan Brown would have felt before he took the penalty that won St Eunan’s College the Tony O’Neill Cup on Wednesday.

Whatever he was feeling, his manager was in no doubt whatsoever as to the outcome.

“I was expecting Tiernan to score. He has an unbelievable left foot but he also has an unbelievable mentality, he’s tough as teak,” was how Michael Kelly described his left full.
