Manus Kelly and Donall Barrett were announced as the Overall Donegal Sports Star Award winners for 2017 at the Mount Errigal Hotel tonight.
Kelly and Barrett won the Joule Donegal International Rally back in June. It was the first time ever that a Donegal crew retained the International Rally crown. They also won the Motor Sport award on the night.
The shortlist for the Overall award included Amber Barrett, Chloe and Sam Magee, Manus Kelly and Donall Barrett, Mona McSharry, Nora Stapleton, and Rhys Irwin.
There were over 40 winners on the night, and snooker legend Ken Doherty was an entertaining special guest.
Marty Lynch from Milford AC won the Brendan McDaid Memorial Special Achievement award, while Tyler Toland and Edward O’Reilly picked up Special Recognition gongs.
1992 All-Ireland winning manager Brian McEniff was inducted into the Donegal Sports Star’s Hall of Fame.
