Karoline Sweeney has been elected president of the Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce for the 2026/27 term.
Elected at the Chamber’s AGM this evening, she will succeed outgoing president Jimmy Stafford in the role.
Ms Sweeney is General Manager of Castle Grove Country House, a family run hospitality business since 1989.
She has been a Chmber board member for almost eight years.
For the past three years, Karoline has served as Treasurer of the Chamber, leading the Membership, R&D and Events Committee.
She is a director on the Food Coast Donegal board, promoting food and beverage products as well as food tourism in Donegal, where she has been a driving force in the organisation.
Speaking following tonight’s announcement, Ms Sweeney said: “I am delighted to be nominated and elected as president of the Chamber this year.
“I am really looking forward to representing our 337 members, which represents over 15,000 employees.
“I am super excited for the year ahead and feel privileged and honoured to be nominated into this role.
“I look forward to working with all our members.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our board members, and I look forward to working with our new members.”
