Junior Cert' mayhem in Letterkenny

BY C.J.MCGINLEY
JUNIOR certificate students had to ‘run for their lives’ during what was described as ‘running battles’ and ‘terrifying scenes’ on the streets of Letterkenny on Wednesday night.

In what was an unrelated incident a young Letterkenny man had to be rushed to hospital after suffering a ‘suspected bleed to the brain’ following an attack on the same night.

He was in the Port Road area when he was struck from behind.

Yesterday, angry parents demanded answers over what they claim was the lack of garda presence on the streets following a non-alcohol disco attended by up to 1,000 students.

However, despite several requests gardai in Letterkenny were unavailable at the time of going to press.
