June 7 elections portal launched in Donegal

WITH June 7 now just around the corner, an online portal has been created to provide accurate information to voters and also those running in the local elections here in Donegal.

For those seeking one the 37 available seats on Donegal County Council, nominations must be lodged from next Monday to the following Saturday, May 18. These papers must be delivered in person to Paul McGill, the county’s returning officer.

Local elections are held every 5 years, in the month of May or June. The elections allow people to elect councillors to represent them in their local authorities. Voting in the local elections will be held on Friday 7. Polling stations will open from 7am to 10pm.
