INDEPENDENT Councillor John O’Donnell has officially been elected.
The Kilmacrennan took one of three seats in the Milford area when he reached quota on first preference votes alone. His first preference tally of 1,959 was more than enough to get him over the line.
Friends and family cheered as the result was announced in the Aura Centre.

Two candidates – Charlie McGinley Ind and Dermot Hardy Aontu – have been eliminated.
