Donegal ladies manager John McNulty has stepped down from his role, effective immediately.
The Kilcar native took over from Maxi Curran at the end of 2023 and had a job on his hands after Donegal were relegated from Division 1 in the league and a number of seasoned players stepped away from the squad.
McNulty guided them to third place in Division 2 while blooding in new players, before an agonising Ulster final defeat to Armagh after extra-time.
The All-Ireland series saw Donegal draw with eventual champions Kerry in Ballybofey, but an away loss to Waterford put them in the relegation semi-finals, where they defeated Kildare in Breffni Park.
A statement from the Donegal LGFA read:
“Donegal Senior Ladies Manager John McNulty has stepped down from his position, effective immediately.
“John is stepping away from this role for personal reasons.
“We’d like to thank John for his service and wish him well in the future.”
