Joel Bradley-Walsh nets late equaliser for ten man Finn Harps

Finn Harps 0 Longford Town 1

Local lad Joel Bradley-Walsh scored a late equaliser as ten man Finn Harps drew with Longford Town in Finn Park.

After a good spell of Finn Harps pressure, Longford took the lead against the run of play as Aaron Doran’s 20 yard free went around the wall and under David Aziaya.

It stayed 1-0 at the break despite Max Hutchison’s late header hitting the post, while Conor Tourish did the same after the restart, both from Gavin McAteer crosses.

Osaze Irhue cleared an effort off the line before he was stretchered off as Kevin Jordan was given a straight red card for a challenge on the Longford man.

Harry Halwax made a super diving save to deny Aaron McLaughlin’s super volley that was heading for the top corner in the 93rd minute as it looked like it wouldn’t be their day.

But Tony McNamee’s curling cross took a slight touch off Tourish and a diving header from substitute Joel Bradley-Walsh at the back post saw the game levelled on 96 minutes, his first goal for the club.

The ten men almost found a winner but Halwax was the saviour for Longford, making two more brilliant saves from McAteer and Dara McGuinness efforts to salvage a point for the visitors.
