Donegal 1-13 Cavan 1-10
An injury time goal from Joe Doherty sealed a great comeback win for the Donegal minors in their opening Ulster Minor League group game against Cavan in O’Donnell Park.
Barry Ward’s side started slow and a Cathal Smith goal for Cavan had them 1-6 to 0-4 ahead at the break and they stretched their lead out to seven points on 32 minutes.
But Donegal hit back with points from Thomas Lenehan, Tomas Carr, Shane Sweeney and Kalvin McLaughlin started the comeback.
Cathal Mac Aoidh and Conor Farrell made it a one point game with two to play but when Jamie Gavigan went for a point to level, it fell to Urris man Doherty who fired in a 61st minute goal to seal the turnaround.
