TWENTY new high-technology jobs are on the way for Letterkenny. It follows the announcement today (Tuesday) KeyedIn Solutions (Minnesota, USA) ‘is to establish its European Software Research and Development Centre at CoLab at the Letterkenny Institute of Technology campus.
The decision by The decision by to establish its European Software Research and Development Centre in Letterkenny is being seen as a major vote of confidence in Donegal and enhances Letterkenny as a hub town that is a national leader in technology and software development.
The jobs will be located in CoLab on the LYIT campus. The news has been welcomed by Donegal North East Fine Gael TD Joe McHugh.
“KeyedIn Solutions’ decision to invest in Donegal is a vote of confidence in the IT skills of the local workforce and is a vote of confidence in LYIT, which continues to produce highly skilled graduates. Just last Friday week An Taoiseach Enda Kenny was at LYIT to open its new science laboratories,” he said.
“LYIT is a key driver of the local knowledge economy. Staff have begun moving into the new premises in the last 10 days. Donegal has many highly skilled IT graduates working in cutting-edge companies around the world. The political objective is to create the economic environment for potential start-ups like KeyedIn to locate in the northwest, in order to attract our highly skilled young people to come back home,” he added.
