Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce has elected Jimmy Stafford as its new President.
Outgoing President Claire McDonough handed over the Presidential chain to incoming President Jimmy Stafford at the Letterkenny Chamber Annual General Meeting held this week in The Station House Hotel.
Mr Stafford, who previously served as President in 2020, is a Risk and Operations Manager with Bank of Ireland. He is also well known for his work as a producer and presenter at Highland Radio.
On taking over the role he said he was very much looking forward to representing the business community and Chamber members in 2025.
“As an adopted Donegal man it is such an honour for to be elected as Chamber President once again by my colleagues in the Chamber Council. When I was President in 2020 I missed out on a lot of interaction with Members and some of our key events which we weren’t able to run because of restrictions,” he said.
“So I was delighted when my Chamber Council colleagues suggested I could be President again. Letterkenny Chamber has grown and developed over the last four years so it is an exciting time to take over.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Claire McDonough for his hard work and dedication over the past year and I am committed to carrying out this role with the same enthusiasm and integrity”.
On handing over the Chain Claire McDonough said, “It has been a real privilege for me to serve as Chamber President over the last year. As anyone who had the privilege to serve as President they will know it was a very busy year.
“I would like to wish Jimmy well in his role. He has a huge amount of energy and will be an asset to our Chamber going forward.”
The Chamber has also elected a new Chamber Council from a wide variety of business sectors.
