Catriona Jennings smashed the world record for the 100-mile distance at the Tunnel Hill 100 Mile in Illinois.
The Letterkenny AC athlete crossed the line in a time of 12:37.04 to claim fourth place overall and be the first female home.
The superb display from the Donegal athlete saw her beat the previous record by over five minutes which was set by Camille Herron at the same event in 2017.

This was the 2012 Olympian’s first attempt at the 100 mile, running a split of 7:34 minutes per mile.
