Another successful day at the office for Jason Quigley

JASON Quigley continued his unblemished professional career after a unanimous decision victory over experienced James de La Rosa at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas overnight.

The middleweight was taken the distance by the Mexican but Quigley was the unanimous winner on the scorecards of all three ringside judges after the 10 rounds.

The Mexican came to Las Vegas having had 26 previous pro bouts, winning 23 of them, but was second best throughout to Quigley on the undercard of the Amir Khan – Saul Alvarez showdown.

In the biggest fight of his career to date and in front of a large HBO TV audience, the former world amateur silver medallist showed all his class by taking every round.

The southpaw did most damage with a strong right hand and looked poised to be nearing a knock-out blow in the fifth when de La Rosa appeared to be in trouble, but Quigley opted against going for a fight-ending shot.

Both fighters were visibly tiring in the last couple of rounds, but the Ballybofey man still maintained the upper hand to enhance his growing reputation.
