‘It’s good to be back’ – McBrearty

PATRICK McBrearty was happy to get seventy minutes of intercounty action under his belt as he returned to Donegal colours on Sunday.

McBrearty has encountered a long spell on the sidelines after rupturing his ACL in the Ulster Final last June.

However, he was back in the green and gold on Sunday, and showed his class as he landed five points.

“It’s been a long road back,” said the 25-year-old.

“The first month or so was the longest part, but getting over the op then goes very quick. You take it in three different stages.

“It’s good to be back and I had a good team around me too. There was a good medical set-up both in Dublin and Donegal when I was home at weekends. Enda King in Dublin and Cathal Ellis and the boys in Donegal.”
