It’s all coming up Roses at the Balor Arts Centre

THE Balor Theatre in Ballybofey plays host to two very different kinds of music events this weekend.

Students of the Rodney Deery School of Music showcase their talents on Saturday while The Guns ‘N’ Roses Experience – Europe’s biggest, best and most in demand G ‘n’ R tribute act visit on Sunday.

Operating out of The Base Enterprise Centre in Stranorlar, the Rodney Deery School of Music teaches voice, piano and a range of other music to people of all ages.

The Deerys are one of Ballybofey’s best known musical families and the night will also see Rodney joined onstage by his father Vivian and wife Claire and maybe a special guest or two.

Sunday night promises to be a rather louder affair as The Guns ‘N’ Roses Experience delivers a two hour set packed with all the favourite hits – Welcome To the Jungle, November Rain, Sweet Child O’ Mine, Paradise City, Mr Brownstone and many, many more.

Boasting one of the few singers able to deliver the vocal style and stage presence of classic Axl Rose together with four other G ‘n’ R clones The Guns ‘N’ Roses Experience meticulously recreate every musical note and visual detail to capture the reckless spirit of the band’s legendary live performances.

The Rodney Deery School of Music concert takes place this Saturday, June 18, at 8pm. Tickets are €15 for adults, €10 for children with a family ticket (four family members for €40) also available.
