‘It’ll be a big one’ – Molloy

BY MATTHEW WILSON

ARDARA midfielder John Ross Molloy is expecting a tough test when they make the short trip to face neighbours Naomh Conaill at Davy Brennan Memorial Park this Saturday.

Damian Devaney’s side got their championship campaign off to a fine start with a three-point win over Aodh Ruadh last Sunday.

Meanwhile, Martin Regan’s men lost out to Glenswilly at Pairc Naomh Columba and will be looking to regroup this weekend.

Ardara’s panel is looking strong at the minute having been boosted by the return of Joe Melly to the team having been in Australia while KJ Molloy also got minutes into the tank against the Ballyshannon men.

The Glenties men were without their county a couple of their county panelists last weekend but may have some back for the local derby.

Ardara midfielder John Ross Molloy is anticipating a real battle when the two sides take to the field but will be hoping they can build on last weekend’s triumph when they make the trip to Glenties.

“It’ll be a big one. When the draw was made everyone might’ve thought that it’s not the rivalry that used to be there a couple of years ago, Naomh Conaill pulled away a wee bit. But it’s still a local derby and the Ardara and Naomh Conaill lads still get up for it. There’s no love lost between the two teams.

“With the start that we had last week, if we could get anything out of the game it’d be great. But Naomh Conaill will be looking at it the same way, they didn’t get anything out of Glenswilly. I think in the last 20 minutes against Glenswilly , Naomh Conaill had a big turnaround and I think they’ll be like that for the full 60 against us.”
