‘It will be a new game’ – Regan

Naomh Conaill and Gaoth Dobhair will spend this week preparing for the Donegal SFC final replay next Sunday after they played out a low-scoring draw yesterday.

Naomh Conaill played in the last Donegal SFC replay against St Eunan’s in 2005.

They were underdogs then but upset the odds to claim the Dr Maguire Cup.

They will back themselves to the hilt again next week and will hope that they come out on the right side.

“It’s grand saying we will take heart from it but we knew today that we had a good chance.

“We will have a chance again next week if we perform. We were close to it today and we will need the same again next week.

“Hindsight is great and we will know in a weeks’ time if we got out of jail or whether we left it behind us.

“Favourites win replays, favourites lose replays. It will be a new game and will start at nil nil before the ball is thrown in so we will just work on what we can improve on over the next week.”
