THE Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (ISPCC) has encouraged anyone impacted by the tragedy in Creeslough to reach out for support in the weeks and months ahead.
The organisation said they are there to assist parents or carers, children and young people as they come to terms with the enormous loss.
“The tragic event at Creeslough in Donegal has left this country reeling, and all in ISPCC wish to express our sympathy for the victims’ families, those injured in the explosion and the entire community, which is experiencing such unprecedented suffering. It will take a long time for people to come to terms with such a horrific accident,” said an ISPCC spokesperson.
“It may be difficult to know how to help children and young people make sense of this tragedy. For parents and carers, it can be hard to judge the best way to approach discussing such a shocking event and the sorrow surrounding it. We are here to assist parents/carers and children and young people in the days, weeks and months ahead.”

It is very difficult for children and young people to process the scale of the tragedy at Cresslough. They will be saddened and shocked by the unimaginable loss and events of the past number of days.
