Island for sale at €1 million

He inherited the island from his maternal grand father Vin Duggan who bought it many years ago.
In years gone by sheep were ferried out to the island by boat for summer grazing.
“I think the guide price of around €1 million is a bit over inflated in the current times.
“I decided to put it on the market to see what level if interest there would be.
“There are old wallsteads of a house there and the ruins of a church. It is an amazingly beautiful place and it will be interesting to see what response it attracts,” Mark said.
Bird life
According to National Parks and Wildlife Service Regional Manager, Dave Duggan, Inishdooey is a haven for nature conservation.
The island is home to the corncrake, white fronted geese, terns and other seabirds at various times of the year.
“From a nature conservation point of view it is a fine island.
“It is designated under a number of habitat directives – SAC, SPA – which would make the chance of getting planning permission to build on the island practically zero,” Mr Duggan said.
Perhaps it could become a twitcher’s paradise?
