Is Downing Street graphic an error? Comedian Garron Noone has other ideas

By Dionne Meehan

A DOWNING Street graphic which appeared to show Donegal as part of the UK in a recent video was done in error, according to the UK government.

The graphic appeared in a short video which featured British Prime Minister Keir Starmer attending the UN General Assembly in New York last week.

In the video, a map of the British Isles appears with shading over England, Scotland, Wales and a large section of the north of Ireland.

However, rather than including the six counties of Northern Ireland, the shaded portion includes Donegal.

Despite a UK government spokesperson telling the Irish Independent that this was a “graphic error”, Irish musician, comedian and TikToker, Garron Noone branded it as a strategic move from the UK to steal one of Donegal’s greatest treasures.

In a hilarious video posted on TikTok on Tuesday, Garron said: “This is a strategic move from the UK.

“They are trying to steal the most powerful and most handsome man in Ireland, that’s right, they want Daniel O’Donnell and his beautiful country music.

“We need Daniel O’Donnell.

“He is the only good looking man in Ireland and the greatest singer of all time.

“My mother fancies Daniel O’Donnell, my grandmother fancied Daniel O’Donnell and I fancy Daniel O’Donnell, a small bit,” he concluded.
