ALMOST a decade on from his stint on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, could Daniel O’Donnell be about to don his dancing shoes again?
The Donegal singer appeared on the BBC TV hit show in autumn 2015.
He was eliminated third; in week four of the series.
The rumour comes as Dancing with the Stars will soon make a return to our screens, with the line-up for the next season revealed to hosts Doireann Garrihy and Jennifer Zamparelli.
And, based on their reactions a flurry of bets have come in with Donegal’s favourite Daniel
O’Donnell is at 3/1, Limerick’s Lyra is at 4/1 and Eurovision winner Dana is at 5/1.
Olympic gold medallist Rhys McClenaghan is being backed to put his pummel horse skills to use at 4/1.
It seems from Zamparelli and Garrihy’s comments, that a father and son duo could be in the mix, with Kerry men Tadhg and Derry Fleming at 6/1 to strut their stuff on the stage, followed by Brendan and Danny O’Carroll at 8/1.
Also in the running is TikTok star Lauren Whelan (5/1), bestselling author Marian Keyes (6/1), The Young Offenders actress Hilary Rose (7/1) and former president Mary McAleese (7/1).
Commenting, Alex Apati of Ladbrokes, said: “Dancing With The Stars is a staple in Irish households and if the betting is to be believed, we’ll be seeing Una Healy dance battle it out among the likes of Daniel O’Donnell, Olympian Rhys McLeneghan and former president Mary McAleese! It looks like it will be a real mixed bag which will make for some great television.”
