The early childhood years is the most important development stage for a child as the experiences he/she has in the first few years set the foundations for relationships and learning throughout their lives. When working with children having an understanding of child development is essential, allowing the teacher to understand the emotional, physical and educational growth that children go through from childhood to adulthood.
Throughout the Montessori course you will learn to develop your skills in Early Learning, Childhood Literacy and numeracy, and Early Childhood Arts and Culture. The exercises and materials used in the classroom environment cater towards the senses developing the child’s concentration and motor skills, all the while encouraging independence at an early age.
Learners can then progress onto part 2 of the Early Years programme to achieve a complete common award in Early Years Care and Education. Further progression in this sector can be achieved through our new London Metropolitan BA Hons degree in Early Childhood Studies which can be studied either full time or blended learning.
Now enrolling for autumn courses.
