Irish Hospice Foundation calls on the people of Donegal to take part in Never Fogotten Night Walk 2025

Irish Hospice Foundation (IHF), in partnership with event sponsor Londis, has launched their Never Forgotten Night Walk 2025. They are calling on people of Donegal to get involved in Never Forgotten Night Walk 2025 and come together in a powerful act of remembrance and support for all who are grieving.

Taking place at 5pm on Friday 28th November, participants will gather in locations nationwide to walk, jog, or run 5km in memory of loved ones lost and in support of all those who are bereaved. This special evening offers an opportunity for people across Ireland to honour those they have lost while raising vital funds for IHF’s essential services.

Funds raised through the Never Forgotten Night Walk will directly support Irish Hospice Foundation’s critical programmes, including Nurses for Night Care and the Bereavement Support Line, helping to ensure that everyone facing dying, death, and bereavement in Ireland receives compassionate care and support when they need it most.

100 people die every day in Ireland and it is estimated that 10 people, adults and children, are bereaved through each death. IHF’s services provide crucial support to individuals and families navigating loss and grief across communities throughout the country. Londis retailers have supported IHF’s mission as their official charity partner since 2023, raising a creditable €170,609.63 in that time through various fundraising initiatives as well as a donation on selected Londis Own Brand products.

Paula O’Reilly, CEO of Irish Hospice Foundation said: “Our Never Forgotten Night Walk is a beautiful opportunity for communities across Ireland to come together in remembrance of those we have loved and lost. Every step taken on 28th November will help us continue our vital work supporting people through some of life’s most difficult moments. We are grateful for everyone who will join us in making this evening of remembrance truly special.”
