LETTERKENNY born sisters Frances Gallagher and Elizabeth Doherty (nee Crerand) will celebrate their 95th birthdays next Saturday on May 26, making them officially Ireland’s oldest identical twins.
Elizabeth who married Hugh Doherty who worked for IWS, lived at Ard O’Donnell until recently when she moved to live with her daughter Noreen in Carrigart. The couple had seven children.
Frances moved to Chester in England where she met and married Chris Gallagher and had one daughter – Noreen – who now cares for her mother.
