CELEBRATIONS took place in Lake House Nursing Home, Portnablagh on Saturday last when Sarah Doherty from Kinnelargey in Downings celebrated her 106th birthday.
Sarah was joined for her birthday celebrations by her two daughters Nuala and Mary Josephine, family and friends, as well as the staff from Lake House Nursing Home to celebrate this momentous milestone.

Sarah is one of the oldest people living in the country.
She enjoyed the celebrations and she was also presented with a special commemorative medal from President Michael D. Higgins from the Director of Nursing at Lake House Nursing Home, Jennifer Rankin.
Jennifer said that she was delighted and proud to present Sarah with her fifth medal and said that Sarah is held in great affection by her many friends and everyone in the home.
