Injured woman airlifted from Slieve Liag

A WOMAN in her sixties was airlifted to hospital this morning (Wednesday) after she fell on Slieve Liag.

The woman fell and is believed to have broken her leg while walking at popular tourist attraction.

Malin Head Coastguard were alerted and they tasked the coastguard helicopter as well as Killybegs coastguard to her rescue.

Ambulance paramedics treated the woman on the sea cliffs, and members of Killybegs coastguard carried her off the mountain on a stretcher. She was then transferred by helicopter to Sligo General Hospital.
